elvington show

has anyone had any info from elvington if we have a slot for the show it seems to bit a bit slack on the confirmationfrom this show .its a long way to go to find your going to be turned back home.

All our shows are confirmed as usual before they are put into the calender for the AGM it's hard work getting dates before then so some are marked TBC [to be confirmed] or ? if i dont know the exact date.

We have a space booked but i think we are in a different location. As mentioned at the AGM i'm booked in with my other group this year as bomb disposal. I can take some kit for Home Guard but not much and no tentage or catering, i think Ian and Carl doing Airbourne? Who Is going? who is staying? what kit do you need?

Passes arrived today and will be at the event Friday [not going to post out as not known who' there yet] only about 8 but not to worry if more attending. Pontefract H.G. are in the alternative location round the corner from the control tower on the way to the traders. NO OPEN FIRES OR BBQ.

I'll be there on the Saturday : D

Ian and me are 4 commando and will be first on feild last off again .Need to know whos staying over last yaer had a fight on with that gobshite in charge of airbourne engineers he kept trying to pinch are ground . Will be a split camp portraying 4 commando and hg if no one gets back to us we will leave space for canopy and seat area. Ee elvington

Hi Steve. I'll be at Elvington saturday with James and Sunday with Steve and two women. Not staying over

If no one is staying over who is going as home guard, we will leave space for seating area and canopy for your camp, not sure how much space we have been allocated. Dont know who is taking Group canopy and chairs as we are full in the car with our own stuff for our camp. See you all there.

Great weekend and enjoyed meeting up with you all again. Sorry we didn't have enough time to talk much between the camps but glad to say there was a lot of interest shown in Northover Projector. Hope to see you all at Thwaites Mill or the next "do". We may have some new members but it depends if they follow up and get in touch with us. Printed some business cards but forgot to bring them with me (it's my age !!!) but I'll bring them to the Thwaites weekend and make sure you all get some. Up the fighting 48th. Careful how you read that

Good weekend good to see ytou all thanks ian and sam for a good display and camp.We had a good weekend nice to get the 4 commando kit out looking forward to next event.

Good turnout on all camps, lots of interest on all camps too, Found kids Tommy helmets at last so next time will breakout the wooden rifles for some kids drill and bayonet fighting.

throughly enjoyed elvington and finnally got a bergen for the high price of a tenner

Yes steve the lids were good right down to screw on top bet they show the wood rifles up now.Had some interest from vets there and a bloke from blackpool about event sending me some pics on email.Oh yes glkad to get trip wire and friction tape who would think you could get 1943 in that condition nice find.
