    True we could take it as a compliment as some of the things on the show were true to life .

    its just the show was so loved and ran for so long people just link the two.

    i presume ww1 re-enacters get blackadder references all the time.

    try to not let things about dads army grind you down too much lads, even this months classic military vehicle magazine has a report about how a re-enactor has painted an austin 7 van up as the walmington home guard vehicle, & admits to taking on the role of private fraser!! i agree james, the programme was so loved by so many its a stigma that however you look at it has stuck. maybe in one sense it keeps things alive? i have noticed when sat or near camp, that young kids walking past will say "cor dads army". in one respect to the ponte home guard, at least you dont pretend to be a television programme unlike some other re-enactors, so take pride at that.

    Was even more so when we had driver ray with us he got frazier all the time.
